SEO Checker does not collect, store, share or sell any personal or browsing data. This policy explains what the SEO Checker Chrome extension (“the extension”, “we”, “us”) accesses, why, and what happens to it.

This policy applies only to the SEO Checker browser extension. It does not cover websites you visit while using it, which have their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

None. The extension does not collect, transmit or retain any of the following:

  • Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address or IP address
  • Browsing history or the URLs you visit
  • Page content, form inputs or keystrokes
  • Authentication details, cookies or financial information
  • Location, health or communication data
  • Usage statistics or analytics

There is no account, sign-up or login.

How the extension works

The extension reads a webpage only when you click its icon, and only the page open in your current tab. It reads that page’s URL and HTML to check on-page SEO elements: title tag, meta description, headings, robots and canonical tags, hreflang, viewport, language attribute, favicon, image alt text, links, Open Graph and Twitter card tags, and structured data.

All analysis runs locally inside your browser. Results appear in the extension popup and are discarded when you close it. If you use the copy report feature, the report goes to your own clipboard only; the extension sends it nowhere. The extension does not run in the background, does not modify pages, and does not access other tabs.

Permissions and why we use them

The extension does not request broad host permissions, so it has no standing access to any website.

Storage, sharing and third parties

We do not store data on any server, and the extension does not save page data on your device. We do not sell, rent, trade or transfer data to anyone.
The extension contains no analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, cookies or third-party services, and makes no network requests of its own.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information accessed by SEO Checker complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page data is used only to show you the SEO audit you requested, is never transferred to third parties, is never used for advertising, creditworthiness or lending, and is never read by humans.

Children's privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13, because it collects no information at all.

Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
